In these fun workshops you will learn the traditional art of gyotaku using sustainably caught New Zealand fish species discover how to use recycled Tetrapak cartons to create their own dry-point intaglio prints explore cyanotype as a quick, easy, non-toxic alternative harnessing the energy of the sun create unique patterned textiles using Moana block prints learn how to transform your printed images into original 3D objects: gain an insight into CYMK screen-printing and be inspired by this creative and practical introduction to screen-printing on textiles. It will get messy though, so an apron is highly recommended! Many techniques are simple enough to be continued at home or a shared studio space, with a focus on sustainable, non-toxic materials. Sunday,, 10am – 5pm – Enjoy a selection of workshops, open to all skill levels and without needing any prior printmaking knowledge. In the chill-out zone, visitors can connect with old and new print friends while sampling tasty Jamaican food from Gracefully Jerked food truck. Saturday,, 10am – 5pm - Festival-goers can experience a range of free, print-related activities, open to the public Print Demos, Print Lab, Print Talks and a Print Fair.
